A tan leather armchair in low afternoon light

Curated

Leather gets better, then keeps going

Leather starts firmer than fabric and then breaks in: after a couple of years the tan carries a patina you cannot buy new. It also wipes clean, which matters more than it sounds in a house with children. Keep it out of direct afternoon sun, feed it once a year, and it will outlast everything else in the room.

Frequently asked questions

How does leather age?

It starts firmer than fabric and then breaks in. After a couple of years the tan carries a patina you cannot buy new, and the seat takes the shape of the people who use it. That is the point of it.

How do I care for leather?

Keep it out of direct afternoon sun, wipe it with a dry cloth, and feed it with a leather conditioner once a year. Spills wipe off, which matters more than it sounds in a house with children.

Will it scratch?

Yes, and it should. These are aniline-finished hides rather than a coated leather, so a scratch buffs out with a thumb and the surface keeps its character. A fully coated leather resists marks and never develops any.

Do you deliver to all states in Australia?

Yes. Everything ships from our Melbourne warehouse, and delivery is calculated per shipment at checkout — it depends on the size of the piece and how far it is going. Orders over $1,500 travel free by white-glove courier, who will carry it in, place it in the room and take the packaging away.

What is the warranty and return policy?

Every frame carries a ten-year guarantee, and fabrics and finishes are covered for two years against manufacturing faults. If a piece is not right, you have thirty days from delivery to send it back for a refund, as long as it is in the condition it arrived in.
